Oven-Baked Chicken Wings
For our original project idea, I was going to be doing "Fast Food." Which meant I was going to have to go get as much food as I could for under a certain amount of money. Due to the Coronavirus and having to change our plans, I had to change my part of the project to "American food." This actually worked out perfectly because I had a great wing recipe I could use! Thankfully this recipe uses ingredients that almost everybody already has other than the frozen chicken wings. So, all I had to do was add the frozen chicken wings to my online grocery order and once I picked those up I was good to go!
-
1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
-
3 lbs chicken wings
-
2 ½ tsp ground black pepper
-
½ tsp sea salt
-
1 tsp paprika
-
½ tsp dried oregano
-
½ tsp cayenne pepper
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat your over to 400-425 degrees.
-
Pat dry the defrosted chicken wings
-
Pour the maple syrup into a large bowl. Add the wings and mix with your hands to coat the wings evenly.
-
Arrange the wings on a cookie sheet, thick-skinned side down.
-
In a small bowl, mix together your spices.
-
Designate one hand as your “dry hand” (for the spice mixture) and one as your “wet hand” (for the raw chicken). Using your dry hand evenly sprinkle about half the spice mixture over the wings and rub the spices in (using your wet hand). Then flip them over (using your wet hand). Evenly sprinkle the remaining spices on the wings with your dry hand and rub them in with your wet hand.
-
Put the pan in the oven and bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes.

Overall, I am happy with how my recipe turned out. My judge liked the wings and so did I so if you are wanting to try a wing recipe I would give this one a shot!
I am also happy with how our group project turned out too. I think we handled the change of plans pretty well. Of course, there are things we could have done better but I like the way our project turned out. I am proud of our team and how they handled these unforeseen events and our project altogether.
